1883 - 1952

He made his film debut in 1913 with the production "Der Ausgestossene" (13), it followed "Der schwarze Jack" (18),  "Der bayerische Hiasel" (20) and "Die Gemeinde von St. Helena und ihr Kaplan" (20).
In the next years followed other silent movies like"Jägerblut (22) and "Der Fluch der bösen Tat" (25).

After that he concentrated to the theater again and only returned to the big screen at the end of the 30's. He had a successful comeback with the movies "Der Edelweisskönig" (39) and "Die Pfingstorgel" (39). One year later he achieved great popularity with his role as the Rosenbauer Nicodemus in the movie "Die Geierwally" (40).
Till the end of war followed the movies "Quax, der Bruchpilot" (41), "Die Feuerzangenbowle" (44), "Quax in Afrika" (44) and "Orient-Express" (45).

He was able to continue his career after the war till his death. To his last movies belong "Königskinder" (50), "Rausch einer Nacht" (50) and "Der letzte Schuss" (51).
