Rudolf Vogel

. The actor Rudolf Vogel began his professional career as an employee of a bank before he decided to take acting lessons by Konstantin Delcrois in Munich in 1922. When he finished his education he made in stage debut in 1924. In the next decades he appeared on different stages in Munich where he was very successful. His first appearance in fron of the camera was in 1941 for "Venus vor Gericht" (41), till the end of World War II followed other productions like "Kleine Residenz" (42) and "Einmal der liebe Herrgott sein" (42). After the war he became one of the most busy support actors in the German film business and he often impersonated shady and sometimes intimidating characters. But he also was convincing in comical roles with his striking nose.Nach After movies like "Zwischen gestern und morgen" (47), "Das verlorene Gesicht" (48) and "Der Apfel ist ab" (48) followed the height of his cinematical career. He impersonated roles in well-known movies like "Decision Before awn" (52),"Gesprengte Gitter" (53), "Jonny rettet Nebrador" (53),"Sauerbruch - Das war mein Leben" (54), "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer" (54), "Mädchenjahre einer Königin" (54), "Gestatten, mein Name ist Cox" (55), "Ich denke oft an Piroschka" (55), "Bonjour Kathrin" (56), "Robinson soll nicht sterben" (57), "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" (58), "Der veruntreute Himmel" (58), "Ein Mann geht durch die Wand" (59) and "Alt Heidelberg" (59). He continued his career in front of the camera successfully in the 60s and he acted in the productions "Frau Warrens Gewerbe" (60), "Kriminaltango" (60), "Der Gauner und der liebe Gott" (60), "Der jüngste Tag" (61), "Die Försterchristel" (62), "Der Schulfreund" (63), "Charley's Tante" (63), "Antonius und Cleopatra" (63), "Heidi" (65), "Destry reitet wieder" (66), "Magdalena" (66) and "Rückkehr von Elba" (67). Besides his activity as an actor Rudolf Vogel was also engaged for radio plays and as a dubbing actor. His son Peter Vogel (1937-1978) became a popular actor too.
