The actor Carl Wagner was an important stage actor who only appeared seldom in front of the camera.

When the "Aktiengesellschaft Deutsches Schauspielhaus" was founded in 1899 in Hamburg, Carl Wagner belonged to the main persons involved. There he impersonated many roles in the first decade of the 20th century.

Carl Wagner took part in the movies "Irrlichter des Ruhms" (16), "Der Tod und die Liebe" (19), "Brutal" (20) and "Der Weg zum Licht" (23) with Gustav Fröhlich, directed by Geza von Bolvary.

For the movie "Irrlichter des Ruhms" (16) he also wrote the script.
