The actor Richard Waldemar was a very popular theater actor who began his career at the end of the 19th century.
In movies he only appeared sporadically during his long-standing activity.

One of his first movies were the silent movies "Der Stiefelputzer" (08), "Ein Walzertraum" (08), "Walzerkönig/Johann Strauss an der schönen blauen Donau" (13) and "Der Balletterzherzog" (26), but especially the 30's marked the cinematical height of his career.
He was convincing in productions like "Lumpenkavaliere" (32), "Die ganze Welt dreht sich um Liebe" (35), "Schatten der Vergangenheit" (36), "Prinzessin Sissy" (38) and "Hotel Sacher" (39).

In memory of the great actor they named a park with his name in Vienna - the Richard Waldemar park - in which is also located a bust of him.
Richard Waldemar was among others the bearer of the ring of honour of the city of Vienna.
