The actress Luise Werckmeister began her stage career about 1900 and later she acted regularly at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin for Max Reinhardt.

She made her film debut in 1912 with „Krone und Fessel“ (12).

It followed other silent movies like „Wie Bubi Detektiv wurde“ (17), „Ein Blitzmädel“ (18), „Bräutigam auf Aktien“ (18) and „Kitty“ (19).

In the 20s she impersonated movie roles in the productions „Liebe und Ehe“ (23), „Menschen untereinander“ (26), „Der Feldmarschall“ (27) and „Steh' ich in finstrer Mitternacht“ (27).

Her last cinematical works came into being with „Die lustigen Musikanten“ (30), „Peter Voss, der Millionendieb“ (32) and „Ein Mädel vom Ballett“ (37).

Luise Werckmeister was married with the director Hans Werckmeister. Her daughter Vicky Werckmeister became an actress too.
