. The actress Vicky Werckmeister was born into an artistic family. Her father was the movie director Hans Werckmeister and her sister Luise Werckmeister became an actress too. After acting and dancing lessons she began her stage career in 1918. It followed appearances at cabarets and theaters in Berlin. She already appeared in a movie in 1914 for the first time for "Lulu, die Löwentänzerin" (14), from 1919 she acted regular in front of the camera. To her well-known silent movies belong "Margots Freier" (19), "Ihr schlechter Ruf" (22), "Sein grösster Bluff" (27) and "Die Frauengasse von Algier" (27). Vicky Werckmeister impersonated numerous support roles in the 30s in productions like "Dolly macht Karriere" (30), "Drei Tage Mittelarrest" (30), "Der ungetreue Eckehart" (31), "Die Pranke" (31), "Mein Leopold" (31), "Befehl ist Befehl" (36) and "IA in Oberbayern" (37).
