. The actress Maria Widal was born as Meta Louise Erdmuthe Gohn in Danzig. She began her film career in Denmark with her pen name Luzzy Werren and she took part in movies like "Min Ven Levy" (14), "Endelig alene" (14), "Den moderne Messalina" (14), "Bankhvaelvingens Hemmelighed" (14), "Under Vampyrens Kloer" (14), "Ned med vabnene/Die Waffen nieder!" (14), "Doktor Lucas" (15), "Skyldig - ikke skyldig" (15), "Kains Slaegt" (16) and "Marodor" (16). Afterwards she went to Germany where she was built as a new star from director Urban Gad in 1916. Besides few other movies Maria Widal appeared nearly exclusively in movies directed by Urban Gad. She made her film debut with "Der rote Streifen" (16). In the next years followed many other productions, among them "Die verschlossene Tür" (17), "Vera Panina" (18), "Der Schmuck des Rajah" (18), "Irenes Fehltritt" (19) and "Im Rausche der Sinne" (19). Her last movies came already in 1920 into being with "Das Lied der Tränen"
(20) and "Graf Festenberg" (22) directed by Friedrich Zelnik.
