. The actor Franz Zimmermann joined the film industry at the age of 26 and he made his debut with "Rivalen der Luft - Ein Segelfliegerfilm" (34). In the next years followed other popular movies like "Hundert Tage" (35), "Der Student von Prag" (35), "Eskapade" (36) and "Rosemarie will nicht mehr lügen" (39). During wartime he was engaged for productions like "Polterabend" (40), "Quax, der Bruchpilot" (41) with Heinz Rühmann, "Die Sache mit Styx" (42), "Fronttheater" (42) and "Diesel" (42). After the war he concentrated to the radio broadcoasting where he realised many successful radio plays, among others for RIAS, NWDR and WDR. He not only directed the plays but also took over some speaking parts. His last appearance in front of the camera came many many years later into being with "Rheingold" (78) in which he impesonated the role of the grandfather. Other movies with Franz Zimmermann:
