. The actor Gerald Ames made his film debut in 1914 and he acted in productions like "England's Menace" (14) and "The King's Minister" (14). He became established as an actor in the next years and he impersonated different roles in productions like "The Middleman" (15), "The Sons of Satan" (15), "The Prisoner of Zenda" (15), "Arsene Lupin" (16) in the title role, "The Greater Need" (16) and "The Hypocrites" (16). Gerald Ames appeared in many other movies till the end of the 10's like "A Gamble for Love" (17), "Missing the Tide" (18), "Sunken Rocks" (19), "Sheba" (19), "The Forest on the Hill" (19) and "Comradeship" (19). In the 20's came again numerous movies into being, especially between
1920 and 1923 before his appearances in front of the camera diminished.
Besides his activity as an actor he also realised some movies as a director like "Once Aboard the Lugger" (20), "Great Snakes" (20) and "Mr. Justice Raffles" (21). Gerald Ames was killed in an accident because of a fall. In 1933. He
was married with the actress Mary Dibley.
