The actress Mignon Anderson belonged to the first movies stars of the American silent movie era and she was especially very popular in the first half of the 10s.

Because her parents already were stage actors it seemed likely that she also got an actress. She already had her first stage appearance at the age of six months. It followed other theater engagements as a teenager.
She began her film career at the age of 18 with "The Winter's Tale" (10) and she became a much demanded movie actress in the next years.
To her numerous movies belong "Robet Emmett" (11), "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" (11), "David Copperfield" (11), "Nicholas Nickleby" (12), "Dora Thorne" (12), "The Merchant of Venice" (12), "Miss Robinson Crusoe" (12), "The Thunderbolt" (12), "A Mystery of Wall Street" (13), "Sherlock Holmes Solves the Sign of the Four" (13), "The Patriot" (13), "Robin Hood" (13), "Two Little Dromios" (14), "Guilty or Not Guilty" (14), "Rivalry" (14), "The Million Dollar Mystery" (14), "The Messenger of Death" (14), "The Terror of Anger" (14), "The Reformation of Peter and Paul" (15), "The Girl of the Sea" (15) and "The Price of Her Silence" (15).

Her cinematical works diminished in the second half of the 10s and she dedicated again to the theater.
To her movies of those years belong "The Woman in Politics" (16), "The City of Illusion" (16), "The Phantom's Secret" (17), "The Hunted Man" (17), "The Master Spy" (17), "The Claim" (18), "The Midnight Stage" (19) and "The House of Intrigue" (19).

Her last cinematical works came at the beginning of the 20s into being with "Mountain Madness" (20), "The Heart of a Woman" (20) and "Kisses" (22).

She was well-known for playing many daredevil scenes by herself. Among others she jumped out of windows, made furious carrides and she threw herself down from cliffs. She was also very sportive in many fields.

Mignon Anderson was married with the actor J. Morris Foster with whom she played regularly in front of the camera. She had the nicknames "Filet Mignon" and "The Midget".
