Catherine Calvert

. The actress Catherine Calvert was born as Catherine Cassidy in Baltimore. She made first acting experiences at vaudeville, later she came to the Broadway where she took part in some plays of her later husband Paul Armstrong like "The Deep Purple" (11) and "Romance of the Underworld" (12). Afterwards she returned to the vaudeville and took part in different sketches in the next few years. When her husband died unexpectedly in 1915 she had to think over her further career and decided to enter the film business. She was able to gain a foothold in the film business from 1916 and she
remained successfully on the big screen in the next years.
Her last cinematical works came in the 20s into being with "The Heart
of Maryland" (21), "The Green Caravan" (22), "That Woman" (22) and "Out
to Win" (23).
When Catherine Calvert got married a second time in 1925 she retired
from the film business.
