. The actress Jeanne de Casalis was born as Casalis de Pury in South Africa and got her education in France. There she first launched a career with music before she went to London where she launched an acting career. After first successes on stage she made her film debut in 1925 with "Settle Out of Court" (25), it followed the silent movies "The Arcadians" (27) and "The Glad Eye" (27). In the next years she still appeared often on stage, between she also
took part in movies time and again.
To her last cinematical works belong "Charley's (Big-hearted) Aunt" (40), "Those Kids from Town" (42), "They Met in the Dark" (43), "This Man Is Mine" (46), "Woman Hater" (49) and "The Twenty Questions Murder Mystery" (50). Jeanne de Casalis was among others married with the actor Colin Clive.
