He made his film debut in the silent movie era with the productions "Hullo Marmaduke" (24) and "The Adventures of Algy" (25).

When the talkies rang in a new era in the film business, Claude Dampier experienced the height of his film career.
He took part among others in the movies "Claude Deptises" (30), "So You Won't Talk" (35), "Boys Will Be Boys" (35), "No Monkey Business" (35), "She Knew What She Wanted" (36), "All In" (36) and "Riding High" (37).

After that his appearances in front of the camera diminished. To his last cinematical works belong "Don't Take It to Heart" (44), "Let's Hve a Murder" (50) and "Meet Mr. Malcolm" (54).
