. The writer James B. Fagan first began a career as a stage actor in 1895 but four years later he dedicated to the writing of theater plays. Some of his plays were later successfully adapted for the screen, to these movies belong "The Wheel of Life" (14), "The Rebel" (15), "Bella Donna" (15) and "The Wheel of Life" (29). Even the early sound film era fell back on his plays, to these productions belong "Forgotten Commandments" (32), "Smilin' Through" (32) and "Temptation" (46). James B. Fagan founded together with Flora Robson, John Gielgud and
Tyrone Guthrie the Oxford Playhouse in 1923.
