. TThe actor Shayle Gardner made his stage debut as an extra in London in 1913. It followed other engagements at different theaters before he successfully started his film career in British silent movies of the 20s. To his well-known silent movies of those years belong "The Wandering Jew" (23), "St. Elmo" (23), "The Chinese Bungalow" (26) and "Tommy Atkins" (28). Shayle Gardner also took part in two German productions in 1929 called "Nachtgestalten" (29) and "Die Abenteurer Gmbh" (29) before he went to the USA where he was able to continue his film career. There he appeared among others in popular productions like "Disreaeli" (29), "The Return of Dr. Fu Manchu" (30), "The Lodger" (32), "Menace" (34), "Her Last Affaire" (36) and "Discoveries" (39).
