The actor Ralph Graves already launched his film career at the age
of 18 and he took part in silent movies like "Men Who Have Made Love to
Me" (18), "The Scarlet Shadow" (19), "Nobody Home" (19) and "The Greatest
Question" (19).
The height of his career followed in the 20's where he took part in
numerous movies. He was also under contract by Mack Sennett for several
years.
To these productions belong "Litte Miss Rebellion" (20), "The Long
Chance" (22), "The Extra Girl" (23), "Yolanda" (24), "The Plumber" (25),
"Take Your Time" (25), "Meet My Girl" (26), "That Certain Thing" (28),
"Submarine" (28) and "The Eternal Woman" (29).
From the end of the 20's to the beginning of the 30's he took part in
several movies directed by Frank Capra who he met during his engagement
by Mack Sennett. In these movies he often played together with Jack Holt.
With the rise of the sound film his appearances in front of the camera
diminished and he acted in movies like "Hell's Island" (30), "A Dangerous
Affair" (31), "War Correspondent" (32), "Café Metropole" (37), "Eternally
Yours" (39), "The Spirit of West Point" (47) and "Bat and Robin" (49).
Besides his acting he also wrote several scripts like "A Reno Divorce"
(27), "Flight" (29), "Vengeance" (30), "Scandal for Sale" (32), "Speed
Limited" (35) and "Double Exposure" (44) and directed the movies "Swell
Hogan" (26), "Rich Men's Sons" (27), "The Kid Sister" (27) and "The Swell-Head"
(27).
