. The actress Anne Grey was born as Aileen Ewing. She first wanted to become a journalist but decided for acting at the end. She made her film debut at the end of the silent film era with "The Constant Nymph" (28) and "What Money Can Buy" (28) and she became a popular leading actress of the British film of the 30s. To her well-known movies of those years belong "The Squeaker" (30), "School for Scandal" (30), "The Calendar" (31), "Murder at Covent Garden" (32), "Number Seventeen" (32), "One Precious Year" (33), "The Wandering Jew" (33), "Lady in Danger" (34), "Bonnie Scotland" (35) and "Chinatown Nights" (38). Besides British productions she also appeared in few Hollywood movies but was not as successful as in England before. Anne Grey was married with the actor Lester Matthews.
