. The actress Ursula Jeans was born in Shimla, India, but grew up in London. Her brother Desmond Jeans was a boxer and actor, her sister Isabel Jeans was also an actress. Therefore it was the obvious thing that Ursula Jeans also became an
actress. She made her film debut already in 1922 with "The Gypsy Cavalier"
(22), three years later followed her stage debut.
With the rise of the talkies followed a whole string of engagements in front of the camera, among them "The Flying Fool" (31), "The Crooked Lady" (32), "On Thin Ice" (33), "Cavalcade" (33), "Man in the Mirror" (36) and "Over the Moon" (39). Her cinematical works diminished from the 40's but she remained active till to the 60's. To her movies of those years belong "The Life and Death of Coonel Blimp" (43), "The Woman in the Hall" (47), "The Weaker Sex" (48), "North West Frontier" (59), "The Green Helmet" (61) and "The Battle of the Villa Fiorita" (65). Ursula Jeans was married with the actor Roger Livesey.
