. The actor Ian Maclaren was born as Sydney Shaw. He began his cinematical career in the 20's. To his silent movies belong "Under the Red Robe" (23), "Yolanda" (24) and "Monsieur Beaucaire" (24). He appeared regularly in front of the camera in the 30's where he often impersonated support roles. To his well-known productions of those years belong "Body and Soul" (31), "Cleopatra" (34), "Les Misérables" (35), "The Last of the Mohicans" (36), "The Prince and the Pauper" (37), "The Prisoner of Zenda" (37), "Lancer Spy" (37), "Kidnapped" (38), "Little Orphan Anne" (38), "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (39) and "The Man in the Iron Mask" (39). His last movies came in the 40's into being with "When the Daltons Rode"
(40), "The Common Touch" (41) and "The Grand Escapade" (46).
