1888 - 1961

1915 entstand mit Lee Moran und Earle Lyons ein erfolgreiches Komikerduo, das mit vielen Slapstick-Filmen das Publikum jener Zeit unterhielt. Die Filme waren während fünf Jahren äusserst beliebt.  Erst als die beiden sich auf eine Solokarriere konzentrierten und sich als Duo trennten, kam diese Zusammenarbeit zu einem Ende.

Zu Lee Morans zahlreichen Filmen in der zweiten Hälfte der 10er Jahre zählen "When the Mummy Cried for Help" (15), "When Eddie Took a Bath" (15), "When He Proposed" (15), "The Baby's Fault" (15), "Almost a King" (15), "The Rise and Fall of Officer 13" (15), "Lizzie and the Beauty Contest" (15), "When Lizzie Went to Sea" (15), "Almost a Knockout" (15), "When the Losers Won" (16), "The Janitor's Busy Day" (16), "The Barfly" (16), "A Million in Sight" (17), "Moving Day" (17), "The Tail of a Cat" (18), "The Dodgers" (18), "Please Hit Me" (18), "Guilty" (18), "The Strike Breakers" (19), "Fun in "A" Flat" (19), "Half and Half" (19) und "In the Good Old Days" (19).

In diesen Jahren realisierte er auch viele seiner Filme als Regisseur und schrieb das Drehbuch.

Seine enorme Schaffenskraft prägte auch die 20er Jahre und er verkörperte Rollen in Produktionen wie "Stop That Shimmie" (20), "The Captivating Captive" (20), "La La Lucille" (20), "Blue Sunday" (21), "The Touchdown" (22), "The Rubberneck" (22), "Three Weeks Off" (22), "Apartment Wanted" (22), "Foolish Lives" (22), "The American Plan" (23), "Daring Youth" (24), "The Tomboy" (24), "After Business Hours" (25), "Tessie" (25), "Take It from Me" (26), "Fast and Furious" (27), "The Irresistible Lover" (27), "The Actress" (28), "Outcast" (28), "The Show of Shows" (29) und "The Aviator" (29).

Bereits seit Mitte der 20er Jahre konzentrierte er sich beim Film wieder auf seine Laufbahn als Schauspieler und im Tonfilm der 30er Jahre agierte er weiterhin in zahlreichen Filmen, wobei er im Gegensatz zu seinen Filmen der 10er Jahre vermehrt Nebenrollen verkörperte.

Zu seinen letzten Filmen gehören "Golden Dawn" (30), "My Harem" (30), "The Mad Genius" (31), "Exposure" (32), "The Death Kiss" (32), "Grand Slam" (33), "The Eleventh Commandment" (33), "The Circus Clown" (34), "Night Life of the Gods" (35) und "The Calling of Dan Matthews" (35).

Nach weit mehr als 400 Filmen als Schauspieler, rund 100 Drehbüchern und beinahe ebenso vielen Regiearbeiten zog sich Lee Moran aus dem Filmgeschäft zurück.
