The actor Annibale Ninchi belonged to the Italian film pioneers and he also established a actors dynasty. Not only his brother Carlo Ninchi but also his son Arnaldo Ninchi and his grandson Alexxandro Ninchi took up the profession of an actor.

Annibale Ninchi made his film debut already in 1909 with "Carmen" (09) and during the 10s he became established as a movie actor with appearances in "Ninna nanna" (14), "La gorona" (15), "I pagliacci" (15) and "Le mariage de Chiffon" (18).

Afterwards he concentrated again to the theater, the film business retreated in the background in the meantime.

Only from 1936 he appeared again in front of the camera and in the next years followed few more movies like "Fiordalisi d'oro" (36) and "Scipione l'africano" (37).

From the 50s till to his death the charismatic actor impersonated more roles again, among them "Il diavolo in convento" (50), "Adriana Lecouvreur" (55), Fellini's "La dolce vita" (60), "Les grandes personnes" (61), "Horace 62" (62) and "8 1/2" (63), again directed by Fellini.
Annibale Ninchi impesonated in both movies of Fellini the role of the father of the leading actor Marcello Mastroianni.
