The actor Eddie Phillips could establish a successful film career in
the 20's which lasted till to the 50's.
He already made his film debut in 1913 with "Binks and the Bathing
Girls" (13) before he appreared regular in front of the camera from 1921.
To these movies belong "The Love Light" (21), "Just Around the Corner"
(21), "Lost in a Big City" (23), "The Fog" (23), "George Washington, jr."
(24), "The Plunderer" (24), "Black Lightning" (24), "Wild West" (25), "Account
of Monte Cristo" (25) and "The King of the Turf" (26).
In 1926 he got his own film serial in which he impersonated the figure
"Don Trent". Till 1929 he played this character in 45 movies, among them
"The Collegians" (26), "The Last Lap" (26), "The Fighting Spirit" (27),
"Samson at Calford" (27), "Running Wild" (27), "The Junior Year" (28),
"Fighting for Victory" (28), "King of the Campus" (29) and "Flying High"
(29).
His roles became smaller in the sound film era of the 30's, still he
appeared in many movies like I"Chasing Rainbows" (30), "A Private Scandal"
(31), "Passport to Paradise" (32), "Red-Headed Woman" (32), "Woman Unafraid"
(34), "One Hour Late" (34), "Princess O'Hara" (35), "Exclusive Story" (36),
"The Millionaire Kid" (36) and "The Firefly" (37).
In the 40's and 50's came his last cinematical works into being with
"Forbidden Trails" (41), "Slightly Dangerous" (43), "Murder in Times Square"
(43), "State of the Union" (48) and "Buffalo Bill in Tomahawk Territory"
(52).
In 1965 he was hit by a car and died at the age of 66.
