But this should remain a one-time trip to this métier for a long time, afterwards he concentrated again to the theater. 

He made a brief comeback in front of the camera at the beginning of the 30s when he took part in the productions "Let's Elope!" (30) and "Night Angel" (31).

But afterwards followed a longer interruption again before he became a constant movie actor at the age of 64. From 1940 he impersonated frequently support roles. 

In spite of his late entrance into the film business he appeared in numerous movies, among them "Always a Bride" (40), "The Trial of Mary Dugan" (41), "Public Enemies" (41), "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (42), "Henry Aldrich, Editor" (42), "Mission to Moscow" (43), "Madame Curie" (43), "Uncertain Glory" (44), "The Adventures of Mark Twain" (44), "Bewitched" (45), "Yolanda and the Thief" (45), "Dragonwyck" (46), "The Trespasser" (47), "State of the Union" (48), "The Babe Ruth Story" (48), "That Lady in Ermine" (48), "The Accused" (49) and "My Friend Irma" (49).

Francis Pierlot continued his film career till to his death, among others he acted in the 50s in well-known movies like "The Flame and the Arrow" (50), "Cyrano de Bergerac" (50), "The Prisoner of Zenda" (52), "The Robe" (53) and an episode of the TV serial "The Halls of Ivy: The Umbrella Man" (55).
