. The actor J. H. Roberts began his acting career at the theater in 1909 and at the age of 44 he made his film debut with the silent movie "The Constant Nymph" (28) in the role of Dr. Churchill at Ivor Novello's side. In the sound film era of the 30s he became a demanded support actor and he took part in productions like "Alibi" (31), "White Face" (32), "The Luck of a Sailor" (34), "The Morals of Marcus" (35), "Accused" (36), "The Rat" (37), Alfred Hitchcock's "Young and Innocent" (37), "The Divorce of Lady X" (38) with Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier and "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (39). J. H. Roberts was able to continue his career successfully in the next
years till he retired in 1952.
