The
actor Jameson Thomas was already active on stage as a teen and he
made his stage debut with the play "The Squaw Man".
He made his film debut in 1923 with
"Chu-Chin-Chow" (23) and in the next years followed
numerous other silent movies like "The Drum" (24),
"Decameron Nights" (24), "A Daughter of Love"
(25), "The Hound of the Deep" (26), "The White
Sheik" (28), "The Farmer's Wife" (28) directed by
Alfred Hitchcock and "Piccadilly" (29).
He was able to continue his film
career in the 30s, first in Enland, later in the USA as well.
After another movie directed by
Alfred Hitchcock - "Elstree Calling" (30) - the
expressive actor took part in productions like "Convicted"
(31), "Escapade" (32), "No More Orchids"
(32), "The Invisible Man" (33), "It Happened One
Night" (34), "The Scarlet Empress" (34), "Jane
Eyre" (34), "Charlie Chan in Egypt" (35), "The
Lady in Scarlet" (35), "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town"
(36), "Souls at Sea" (37) and "Death Goes North"
(39).
Jameson Thomas died in 1939 at the age of only 51
because of tuberculosis.
