The actor Ben Webster had already a huge experience from the theater when he made his film debut in 1913.
To his first movies belong "The House of Temperley" (13), "Liberty Hall" (14), "The Victoria Cross" (14), "In the Blood" (15), "The Vicar of Wakefield" (16) and "Nobody's Child" (19).

From the 20's his activity in front of the camera diminished a little bit and he took part in silent movies like "The Call of Youth" (21), "The Only Way" (25) and "Downhill" (27) directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

In the talkies of the 30's and 40's he normally impersonated support roles in well-known productions like "Perfect Understanding" (33), "Drake of England" (35), "The Prisoner of Zenda" (37) with Roland Colman, "The Earl of Chicago" (40), "Suspicion" (41) by Alfred Hitchcock, "Mrs. Miniver" (42) by William Wyler and "Lassie Come Home" (43) with a very young Elizabeth Taylor.

Ben Webster was married with the actress May Whitty.
