. The actor Hugh E. Wright came from the theater when he entered the film business in 1918 with the movie "The Kiddies in the Ruins" (18). In the next years he took part in numerous silent movies, among them "Garryowen" (20), "Nothing Else Matters" (20), "Squibs" (21), "The Romany" (23) and "The Silver King" (29). In the 30's he was engaged for many support roles, to his most popular movies of those years belong "The Great Gay Road" (31), "Stranglehold" (31), "You Made Me Love You" (33), "A Shot in the Dark" (33), "Nell Gwyn" (34), "Scrooge" (35) and "The Knight of the Burning Pestle" (38). Besides his acting career he also wrote some scripts in which he also
appeared as an actor.
