Also the sequel "La Boum 2" was able to captive the public two years later. Sophie Marceau was awarded with a César as the most promising up-and-coming actress - an expectation she confirmed in the next years completely.
With „Joyeuses Pâques - Frohe Ostern“ (84) and especially with the scandal film „Descente aus enfers - Abstieg zur Hölle“ (86) she started successfully her new career as a serious actress and character player. The change from a teenager star to an adult worked smoothly.

The constant success wasn't overlooked in Hollywood. She played the role of Princess Isabelle at Mel Gibson's side in the Oscar awarded movie „Braveheart“ (95).
This movie oppened the doors to the US filmindustry and since then she commuties between France and the USA.
