. The actress Isabel Jeans began her acting career at the theater in London in 1909, eight years later followed her first movie with "The Profligate" (17). The height of her career came in the 20's and 30's and she became a darling of public on Broadway and was convincing in plays like "The Road to Rome" and "The Man in Possession". She also impersonated many roles in movies in those years, among them "The Rat" (25), "Downhill" (27) and "Easy Virtue" (29) - both directed by Alfred Hitchcock, "Sally Bishop" (32), "The Dictator" (35), "Tovarich" (37), "Secrets of an Actress" (38) and "Man About Town" (39). Her parts in the 40's became smaller yet she took part in some very
popular productions like "Suspicion" (41) - her third movie with Alfred
Hitchcock and "Gigi" (58) as aunt Alicia with Leslie Caron.
Isabel Jeans was among others married with the actor Claude
Rains.
