Anouk Aimée

The actress Anouk Aimée was born as Françoise Sorya Dreyfus in Paris. Today she belongs not only to the great actress of the French cinema but also became an European star with her roles in international productions.

To her first movies - still as a teenager - belong "La maison sous la mer" (47) and "La fleur de l'âge" (47). She attracted first attention with her role in "Les amants de Vérone - Die Liebende von Verona" (49).

Already in the 50's followed engagements from Europe and Anoud Aimée appeared in French, Italian and German productions.
To her well-known movies of those years belong "Golden Salamander - Der goldene Salamander" (50), "The Man Who Watched the Trains Go By" (53), "Ich suche dich" (53), "Contrabando" (55), "Les amants de Montparnasse" (58) and "The Journey" (59).

The great breakthrough came in 1960 with Federico Fellini's "La dolce vita" (60), it followed a second common movie with "8 1/2" (62). Anouk Aimée had other appearances in "Lola - Lola, das Mädchen aus dem Hafen" (61), "Sodom and Gomorrah" (62), "Il terrorista" (63) and finally "Un homme et une femme" (66) with which she became a big star for good.
Her work was nominated with an Oscar and she was awarded with the Golden Globe and the British film prize.
It followed "Lo scandalo" (66), "The Appointment" (69) and "Justine" (69).

When Anouk Aimée got married with the actor Albert Finney in 1970 she retired temorarily from the film business despite her big success and it lasted till 1976 before she returned in front of the camera.
She made her comeback with "Si c'était à refaire" (76) and accepted more role offers again from now on.
There came other important movies into being in which she was able to go on from her former career. To this productions belong "Salto nel vuoto" (80), "La tragedia di un uomo ridicolo - Die Tragödie eines lächerlichen Mannes" (81), "Il generale dell'armata morte" (83) and "Un homme et une femme, 20 ans déjà" (86).

To her latest cinematical works belong "Rupture(s)" (93), "Prêt-à-Porter" (94), "Les cent et une nuits de Simn Cineéma" (95), "Solomon" (97), "L'île bleue" (01) and "La petite prairie aux bouleaux" (03).

Besides numerous other awards she was nominated for a César in 1979 and got the Honory César in 2002.
