. The actor Maurice Baquet was a multi-gifted talent. He won the 1st price as a cellist at the Conservatory of Paris, he was a excellence mountain climber, a skill he could also demonstrated in several movies and he was a distinguished skier and he even became a member of the French Olympic ski team in 1936. After he was engaged by Jacques Prevet for his theater "Octobre Group" he was also able to put himself in the limelight as an actor. Finally he made his screen debut with "Taxi de minuit" (34), it followed the movies "Les beaux jours" (35), "Le crime de Monsieur Lange" (36), "L'alibi" (37), "Les gens du voyage" (38), "Altitude 3.200" (38) and "Place de la Concorde" (39). He continued his film career in the next decades and he took part in productions like "La fausse maîtresse" (42), "Adieu Léonard" (43), "Coup de tête" (44), "Voyage surprise" (47), "Tire au flanc" (50), "L'impossible Monsieur Pipelet" (55), "Le voyage en ballon" (60) and "Z" (69). Maurice Baquet was also engaged by French directors of the next generation and the talented actor appeared in movies like "Mr. Klein" (76), "Bobby Deerfield" (77), "Fedora" (78), "La plume" (80), "Le loup" (81), "Le débutant" (86), "Notre Juliette" (90), "Mes coquins" (92), "Le goût des fraises" (98) and finally "L'ami de Patagonie" (02).
