. The actor Wolf Ackva began his professional career for the Mosse Verlag as a writer. It followed an education for medicine in 1931 which he interrupted in favor of an acting education. He lernt his acting abilities by Otto Balckenberg in Munich. Afterwards he made his stage debut in Düsseldorf, it followed engagements in Königsberg, Berlin and Munich. He was also engaged for some movies from 1935. To his first omvies belong "Wenn die Musik nicht wär" (35), "Anschlag auf Schweda" (35), "Schwarze Rosen" (36), the classic "Glückskinder" (36), "Irrtum des Herzens" (39), "Alarm auf Station III" (39) and "Hurra, ich bin Papa!" (39). His career came temporarily to an end with the outbreak of World War II when he was drafted to the military service. Because he was taken prisoner of war the war ended only in 1948 for him with his release from the captivity. He went to Munich where he continued his stage career successfully and he also became a demanded actor for movies and TV productions. He impersonated a lot of movie roles with his striking face for produtions like "Hanna Amon" (51), "Nachts auf den Strassen" (52), "Der Hund von Baskerville" (55), "Romeo und Julia" (57), "Die grünen Teufel von Monte Cassino" (58), "Taiga" (58), "Rommel ruft Kairo" (59), the serial "Gestatten - Mein Name ist Cox" (61), an episode of the serial "Das Kriminalmuseum: Die Nadel" (63), "Der Traum des Eroberers" (64), "Diamanten sind gefährlich" (65), the successful serial "Die seltsamen Methoden des Franz Josef Wanninger" (65-70), "Ein Tag ohne Morgen" (66), "Eine halbe Stunde" (68), an episode of the serial "Graf Yoster gibt sich die Ehre: Cosmos Oil 128 bezahlt" (68) and "Das Trauerspiel von Julius Caesar" (69). In the 70s followed again numerous appearances in front of the camera. He took part in "Claus Graf Stauffenberg" (70), "Sing oder stirb" (71), an episode of the serial "Mordkommission: Gesellschaftsspiel" (73), "Jedermanns Weihnachtsbaum" (75), "Taxi 4012" (76), an episode of the serial "Derrick: Yellow He" (77), "Brennendes Geheimnis" (77), "Natascha - Todesgrüsse aus Moskau" (77), an episode of the serial "Der Alte: Der Spieler" (78), the continuation of the serial "Die unsterblichen Methoden des Franz Josef Wanninger" (78-82), "Protokoll eines Verdachts" (79), "Baranski" (79) and the serial "Le comte de Monte-Cristo" (79). Afterwards he only acted in movies sporadically, among them "Rigoletto hat keine Pause oder Der lästige Ungar" (81), "Ludwig 1881" (93) and "Das Zauberbuch" (96). Besides his activity as an actor Wolf Ackva also realised plays as a director and he was a demanded dubbing actor for stars like Clark Gable, Dirk Bogarde, Henry Fonda, Vincent Price, Bernard Lee, William Holden and Marcello Mastroianni but also for the Muppet figure Sam the eagle.
