. The author and screenwriter Curt J. Braun published his first novel in 1921 with "Das einsame Wrack" and in the next years followed many other criminal novels. To his novels of the 20s belong "Die grüne Spinne" (21), "Das Geheimnis der Villa" (21), "Die Opfer des goldenen Skarabäus" (21), "Der grüne Kuss" (21), "Das Geheimnis der Villa" (21), "Der Kreis der Drei" (22), "Das Haus im Schatten" (22), "Der Flug in den Tod" (22), "Der Mann mit den drei Gesichtern" (23), "Das Nebelschiff" (23), "Die Todgeweihten" (23), "Nächte des Grauens" (23), "Das Land der Finsternis" (23), "Kampf im Dunkeln" (23), "Die rote Schildkröte" (23), "Die Nacht des Entsetzens" (25), "Der Sultan" (25), "Die Frau auf dem Dach" (26), "Kampf der Millionen" (26), "Grand Hotel Atlantic" (27), "Eine Frau, eine Million, ein Steckbrief" (28) and "Hurra! Weltrekord! (29). When Curt J. Braun joined the film business in 1922 he emerged as a equally hard-working screenwriter as he was as an author. The number of his novels diminished from the 30s and he concentrated to his job as a screenwriter. To his last published novels belong "Die Saat geht auf" (31), "Der Flüchtling aus Chicago" (32), "Der Stern von Samara" (38), "Der Mann im Schrank" (39), "Sensation in San Remo" (51) and "Sein grsster Fall" (57). Moreover he also wrote some stage plays like "Die grosse Kurve" (41), "Die Sonntagsfrau" (42) and "Mit meinen Augen" (43). Curt J. Braun remained a busy screenwriter in the next years and he took part in many movies of the 30s and 40s. To his well-known screenplays belong "Stud. Chem. Helene Willfüer" (30), "Der Greifer" (30), "Das Land des Lächelns" (30), "Ehe mit beschränkter Haftung" (31), "Der tolle Bomberg" (32), "Die Vier vom Bob" (13), "Grün ist die Heide" (32), "Der Flüchtling aus Chicago" (34), "Klein Dorrit" (34), "Der Herrscher" (37), "Die Frau ohne Vergangenheit" (39), "Auf Wiedersehen, Franziska!" (41), "Die Sache mit Styx" (42), "Die Entlassung" (42) and "Der Engel mit dem Saitenspiel" (44). He continued his film career after the war and he remained active as a screenwriter till 1959. To his popular postwar movies belong "Arlberg-Express" (48), "Torreani" (51), "Der Zigeunerbaron" (54), "Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins" (54), "Stresemann" (57), "Der Greifer" (58), "Hoppla, jetzt kommt Eddie" (58), "Peter Voss, der Millionendieb" (58), "Bobby Dodd greift ein" (59) and "Peter Voss, der Held des Tages" (59).
