Curd Cappi

. The actor Curd Cappi was born as Conrad Heinrich Paul Lehmann in Weimar. After his study at the Institute of Technology he began to start an acting career from 1908. He first made experiences on smaller stages and in the next years followed engagements in different cities in Austria and Germany. He joined the film business in 1919 with "Lebenshunger" and he soon became a busy support actor in the 20s. To his silent movies of those years belong "Das Geheimnis der Mitternachtsstunde" (20), "Der Unerkannte" (20), "Der Spitzel" (20), "Nat Pinkerton im Kampf" (21), "Die goldene Pest" (21), "Schande" (22) and "Das Recht der Ungeborenen" (29). The transition to the sound film was no problem for him and he continued his film career with minor roles. To his well-known movies of the 30s belong "Namensheirat" (30), "Die selige Exzellenz" (35), "Arzt aus Leidenschaft" (36), "Moral" (36), "Truxa" (37), "Unter Ausschluss der Öffentlichkeit" (27), "Mordsache Holm" (38), "Der Tanz auf dem Vulkan" (38) and "Kitty und die Weltkonferenz" (39). His last cinematical works came during World War II into being with "Die Rothschilds" (40), "Der Meineidbauer" (41), "Rembrandt" (42), "Die goldene Stadt" (42), "Kollege kommt gleich" (43) and "Die goldene Spinne" (43). If Curd Cappi survived the confusions of World War II is not known.
