. The actor Joe Furtner was a busy actor at different German theaters where he could demonstrate his manifold talent. He had his first contact with the medium film in 1936 with "Der Postillon von Lonjumeau" (36). His roles were normally pinned down to comical and good-natured characters with which he conquered the favour of the public. To his other movies belong "Wo die Lerche singt" (36), "Pat und Patachon im Paradies" (37) with the legendary Danish comedian duo of the same name, "Bel Ami" (39), "Kleider machen Leute" (40) with Heinz Rühmann and "Aufruhr der Herzen" (44). He was able to continue his career successfully after the war and acted in front of the camera till few years of his death. To his post-war movies belong "Berliner Ballade" (48), "Schwarze Augen"
(51), "Mikosch rückt ein" (52), "Die Spur führt nach Berlin"
(52), "Der Onkel aus Amerika" (53), "Die tolle Lola" (54), "…und abends
in die Scala" (58) and "Wir Kellerkinder" (60).
