Hugo Gau-Hamm

The actor Hugo Gau-Hamm began his acting education at the theater school of the Schillertheater in Berlin.
It followed first engagements in Flensburg, Dortmund and Aachen.

After the end of his military service during World War I he continued his stage career in Hamburg where we acted several years.

Afterwards he went to Berlin where he appeared at the Volksbühne and at the Staatstheater.

In Berlin he got in touch with the film business and he played first roles in the 30s in „Hans Westmar“ (33), „Die letzten Vier von Santa Cruz“ (36), „Arzt aus Leidenschaft“ (36), „Menschen ohne Vaterland“ (37) and „Revolutionshochzeit“ (38).

During World War II he acted in front of the camera for the productions „Jungens“ (41), „Ein Windstoss“ (42), „Gefährtin meines Sommers“ (43), „Familie Buchholz“ (44), „Neigungsehe“ (44) and „Wir beide liebten Katharina“ (45).

After the war Hugo Gau-Hamm was engaged at the Hebbel-Theater and he also impersonated few more roles in movies like „Jan und die Schwindlerin“ (47) as well as „Don Gil von den grünen Hosen“ (64).
