Karl Görge

. The production designer Karl Görge got an education at the Deutsches Landestheater and he made first experiences as a set designer for different performances. Beside it he also impersonated small roles on stage. He took over the stage management of the theaters in Neustadt Vienna and in Bistritz in the 1880s. He moved to Berlin in 1890 where he was responsible again for the set design, among others at the Königliches Opernhaus and other important theaters. He came in touch with the film business in Berlin and he was responsible as a production designer for numerous movies from 1921. To his first movies belong "Die Verschwörung zu Genua" (21), "Mann über Bord" (21), "Hintertreppe" (21), "Der Graf von Charolais" (22), "Schlagende Wetter" (23) and "Die Strasse" (23). His last cinematical works came in the second half of the 20s into being, among them "Komödianten" (25), "Die unberührte Frau" (25), "Die Brüder Schellenberg" (26), "Die Flucht in den Zirkus" (26) und "Trust der Diebe" (29) sowie ein paar Filme mit dem populären Eddy Polo wie "Eddy Polo im Wespennest" (28) and "Der gefesselte Polo" (28). Besides his activity at the theater and in the film busines Karl Görge also worked as an interior designer.
