. The actor Ullrich Haupt jr. was born as the son of the famous actor Ullrich Haupt sr. Because his father was a busy actor on stage and in silent movies Ullrich Haupt jr. who was born in the USA also grew up there. When his father already died in 1931 he went to Germany and took acting lessons by his paragon Gustaf Gründgens at the Staatliche Schauspielschule in Berlin. In 1936 followed his stage debut in Danzig, it followed engagements in Munich an Berlin where he became establishe as a leading actor. In the years of World War II he also launched a film career and he took part in the productions "Komödianten" (41), "Alarmstufe V" (41), "Träumerei" (44), "Kamerad Hedwig" (45) and "Der Scheiterhaufen" (45). After the war Ullrich Haupt jr. returned to the USA and appeared on different stages. There he also acted in his only US production in front of the camera for an episode of the serial "Kraft Television Theatre: The Doctor in Spite of Himself" (50). When his former acting teacher Gustaf Gründgens retrieved him to Germany he continued his stage career successfully, first in Düsseldorf later in Hamburg Zurich and Berlin. From 1956 he also took part in movies for cinema and television more often. To his well-known movies of the 50s and 60s belong "Juno und der Pfau" (56), "Der Engel, der seine Harfe versetzte" (59), "Die Sendung der Lysistrata" (61), "Das Leben ein Traum" (63), "Stalingrad" (63), an episode of the serial "Die fünfte Kolonne: Das verräterische Licht" (66), "Die Rechnung - eiskalt serviert" (66), "Mister Dynamit - Morgen küsst euch der Tod" (67) and "Wegen Reichtum geschlossen" (68). Ullrich Haupt jr. remained active as an actor till to his death. To his last cinematical works belong an episode of the serial "Der Kommissar: Tödlicher Irrtum" (70), an episode of the serial "Derrick: Stiftungsfest" (74), "Salon Kitty" (76), the serial "Die Abenteuer des David Balfour/Kidnapped" (78), "Colombe" (81), an episode of the serial "Der Alte: Die Unbekannte" (81), "Target" (85), an episode of the serial "Tatort: Tod auf Eis" (86), "Escape from Sobibor" (87), "Münchhausens letzte Liebe" (88) and an episode of the serial "Derrick: Eine eiskalte Nummer" (92). Besides his activity as an actor he also realised several plays and TV productions as a direcotr. Moreover he was also working for radio plays and as a dubbing actor. Ullrich Haupt jr. was married with the actresses Ilse Drost and Beatrice Norden. Other
