| Sigi Hofer

. The actor Sigi Hofer was born as Siegfried Schulhof in Iglau. His comedian talent was soon spotted and he became one of the most popular comedians in Vienna. It followed numerous engagements at theaters and at cabarets. Finally the film business became aware of him and he impersonated roles in several silent movies of the 20s. To these works belong "Ost und West" (23), "Die Stadt ohne Juden" (24) and "Frühlingserwachen" (29). He continued his film career in the early 30s successfully and he took part in the productions "Wien, du Stadt der Lieder" (30), "Zwei himmelblaue Augen" (32), "Die Drei von der Stempelstelle" (32) and "Einmal möcht' ich keine Sorgen haben" (32).
