. The actress Melanie Horeschovsky got an education at the Academy for music and performing arts in Vienna. Afterwards she launched her career as an actress in 1925 at the Münchner Kammerspielen. In the next years followed other engagements on German and Austrian stages and finally her way led her to the Burgtheater in 1931. In the same years she also made her first movie called "Die Blumenfrau von Lindenau" (31) and in the following years she impersonated support roles in movies like "Die grosse Liebe" (31), "Der verlorene Sohn" (34) with Luis Trenker", "Der Kaiser von Kalifornien" (36) again with Luis Trenker and "Salonwagen E 417" (39). She remained busy in front of the camera during the 40s, at the same time she also was very active at theaters. To her movies of those years belong "Bal paré" (40), "Annelie" (41), "Der Fall Rainer" (42), "Erzieherin gesucht" (45), "Zyankali" (48) and "Prämien auf den Tod" (49). Whilst she appeared in classics like "Romeo und Julia" or "Faust" at the theater she took mainly part in entertainment movies of the 50s. To these productions belong "Heidelberger Romanze" (51), "Maxie" (54), "Verlobung am Wolfgangsee" (56), "Wetterleuchten um Maria" (57), "So ein Millionär hat's schwer" (58) and "Der Priester und das Mädchen" (58). Television became a more important factor for her career from the 60s and she acted till briefly to her death in movies like "Höllenangst" (61), "Familie Schimek" (66), "Paarungen" (67), "Der Querulant" (70), "Die Powenzbande" (74), "1982: Gutenbach" (78), an episode of th über Melanie Horeschovsky.
