. The screenwriter Herbert Juttke began his cinematical career in 1920 when he produced and wrote the movie "Von morgens bis mitternacht" (20). The movie became a huge success and was a forerunner of the expressionistic film in Germany. He soon concentrated to the writing of screenplays and he often worked together with the screenwriter Geroge C. Klaren. To his well-known movies of the 20s belong "Gern hab' ich die Frauen geküsst" (26), "Feme" (27), "Kleinstadtsünder" (27), "Dr. Bessels Verwandlung" (27), "Casanovas Erbe" (28), "Geschlecht in Fesseln" (28), "Somnambul" (29), "Cagliostro" (29), "Kolonne X" (29), "Der Hund von Baskerville" (29) and "Ehe in Not" (29). His last screenplays for the German film came at the beginning of the 30s into being with "Gehetzte Mädchen" (30), "Das Schicksal einer schönen Frau" (31), "Mary - Sir John greift ein" (31), "Zwischen Nacht und Morgen" (31) and "Spione am Werk" (33). With the rise of the National Socialism he left Germany and went to France where he continued his film career. He wrote the screenplays for "Jeunes filles à marier" (35), "Cargaison blanche" (37), "L'alibi" (37), "J'étais une aventurière" (38) and "Coups de feu" (39). His last screenplay was filmed in England in 1942 with "Alibi" (42). Besides his work as a screenwriter Herbert Juttke also realised a movies as a director with "Kitty schwindelt sich ins Glück" (32). Other
