. The director, writer and actor Karl Hans Leiter shot his first movie as a director in 1920 with "Das zerbrochene Herz" (20). In the next years followed other directions with "Weltuntergang" (22), "Der Höllenhund" (23), "Pratermizzi" (27), "Die verschwundene Frau" (29) and "Die Dame auf der Banknote" (29). Also in 1920 he began his film career as an actor with "Königin Draga" (20). He impersonated further roles in the productions "Die Expressheirat" (21), "Der Evangelimann" (23), "Charlie, das Universalgenie" (23), "Kaisterjäger" (28) and "G'schichten aus der Steiermark" (29). After a break of nearly 20 years followed his last appreances in front of the camera for "Liebesprobe" (49) and "Heimatland" (55). He continued his career as a movie director in the sound film era and he often shot short movies and few feature movies like "Der rote Faden" (35), "Die Brillanten der Moranows" (38), "Susi und der schwarze Mann" (38), "Ein Bombengeschäft" (39), "Das Ferienkind" (43), "Liebesprobe" (49) and "Auch Männer sind keine Engel" (59). Besides his activity as an actor and director Karl Hans Leiter also wrote numerous screenplays for movies like "Die verschwundene Frau" (29), "Die unheimliche Nacht" (38), "Ein Bombengeschäft" (39), "Valentins Sündenfall" (51), "Fräulein Casanova" (53), "Maxie" (54), "Kaiserball" (56) and "Wiener Luft" (58).
