Stefan Lhotka

. The production designer Stefan Lhotka was born as Istvan Szirontai Lhotka in Budapest. After his studies for architecture and art he worked as an architect in Europe. In 1911 he took over the position of a professor at the art school in Budapest. He joined the Hungarian film business in 1917 and he became the production desinger for many movies, among them "Raskolnikov" (17), "Leono Leo" (17), "Lili" (18), "Radmirov Katalin" (18), "Nebantsvirag" (18), "Julia" (18) and "Lilliom" (19). He went to Germany at the beginning of the 20s where he successfully continued his film career. He created the sets for numerous productions like "Die Lieblingsfrau des Maharadscha" (21), "Das Haus in der Dragonerstrasse" (21), "Die goldene Pest" (21), "Luise Millerin" (22), "Zwei Menschen" 24), "Orient - Die Tochter der Wüste" (24), "Nanon" (24), "Überflüssige Menschen" (26), "Die Gefangene von Shanghai" (27) and "Artisten" (28). Finally he returned to Hungary again. There he worked as an art professor and painter and he also worked for many movies anymore. To his last cinematical works belong "Rabmadar" (29), "A bor" (33), "A nagymama" (35), "Naszut felaron" (36), "Poganyok" (37) and "Sportszerelem" (38).
