Carl Walther Meyer

. The actor Carl Walther Meyer began a study for medicine but he gave it up in favor of an acting education by the actor Erich Ponto. When he had finished his education as an actor he made his theater debut in 1922 at the Stadttheater in Gothas. It soon followed an engagement in Munich where he became a leading actor on stage. Carl Walther Meyer already made his film debut in 1919 with "Präsidenten" (19) but his real film career started in 1925. In the next years he impersonated numerous roles in silent movies like "Frauen, die nicht lieben dürfen" (25), "Das deutsche Mutterherz" (26), "Klettermaxe" (27), "Feme" (27), "Der alte Fritz, 2. Teil: Ausklang" (28), "Eva in Seide" (28), "Saxophon-Susi" (28) and "Der Ruf des Nordens" (29). He continued his film career in the sound film era of the 30s and he played support roles in popular productions like "Die Kaviarprinzessin" (30), "Stürmisch die Nacht" (31), "Die Mutter der Kompagnie" (31), "Der Hexer "(32), "Fräulein Hoffmanns Erzählungen" (33), "Die Czardasfürstin" (34), "Heinz im Mond" (34), "Schwarzer Jäger Johanna" (34), "Regine" (35), "Winternachtstraum" (35) and "Der Favorit der Kaiserin" (36). Afterwards he concentrated to the theater again, among others he had an engagement at the Kleist-Theater in Frankfurt an der Oder after World War II. Since the 30s he was also active as a cutter.
