. The actor Eugen Neufeld was already a successful theater actor when he made his film debut in 1913 with "Unter falscher Flagge" (13), it followed "Der Pfarrer von Kirchfeld" (14). After that followed an interruption of several years before he acted
in other movies like "Der Thronfolger" (19), "Stahl und Stein" (19) and
"Der tote Hochzeitsgast" (21).
In the second part of the 20's followed the height of his film career. He took part in successful movies like "Der Mann ohne Kopf" (27), "Der alte Fritz" (27), "Dr. Bessels Verwandlung" (27), "Der grosse Unbekannte (27), "Ein Mädel mit Temperament" (28) and "Rasputin" (29). In the 30's he could only appear in few more movies before he wasn't
able to continue his activity in Germany because of his Jewish extraction.
Only after the war he was able to make a comeback and he gave his farewell performances with the movies "Wiener Melodien" (47) and "Annie" (48). His brother Max Neufeld was also a well-known
actor.
