. The actress Ethel Orff began her film career in 1917 with "Das Siegel" (17) with Harry Berber, Victor Janson and Max Laurence. From 1919 she appeared regularly in front of the camera, for example in the role of Paula in "Meyer aus Berlin" (19) directed by Ernst Lubitsch with Ernst Lubitsch and Ossi Oswalda, "Zwangsliebe im Freistaat" (19) with Ernst Stahl-Nachbaur uad Max Kronert, "Miss Sarah Sampson" (19) with Robert Scholz and Grit Hegesa as well as "Der Weiberfeind" (19) with Paul Heidemann. Many of her early movies were directed by Georg Schubert. Her last movies came in the 20s into being like "Das Dynamitduell" (20) directed by and with Georg Schubert, as Tanja in Bruno Eichgrün's "Frauen, die die Ehe brechen" (22) with Bruno Eichgrün, Margit Barnay and Margarete Kupfer and "Das Kabinett des Dr. Segato" (23) with Friedrich Berger, Wilhelm Diegelmann and Theodor Loos. Ethel Orff directed one movie in 1921 for "Das grosse Los" (21).
