Alexander Schirmann

. The filmcomposer Alexander Schirmann joined the film business very early and he already wrote his first film music for "Die Welt ohne Männer" (14). It followed other compositions for "Stein unter Steinen" (16), "Der siebente Kuss" (18) and "Madame DuBarry" (19). The height of his career als a filmcomposer followed in the 20s and he wrote the sound for the productions "Christian Wahnschaffe, 2. Teil: Die Flucht aus dem goldenen Kerker" (21), "Der brennende Acker" (22), "Inge Larsen" (24), "Der Hahn im Krob" (25), "Der Mann, der sich verkauft" (25) and "Tragödie im Zirkus Royal" (28). His last cinematical work as a composer came in 1930 into being with "Wenn Du noch eine Heimat hast" (30). Later Alexander Schirmann was no longer able to work in the National Socialist Germany. He was deported to the KZ Auschwitz where he died at the end of 1942.
