. The actor Carl Schönfeld was a celebrated stage actor in the 19th century. His wife Louise Schönfeld was also a busy stage actress. Carl Schönfeld joined the film business in the 10s and he made his film debut as a director with "...welche sterben, wenn sie lieben" (13). In the next years followed other silent movies he directed like "O diese Männer" (15), "Der Kampf um das Testament" (15), "Um ein Weib" (15), "Wahn und Wahnsinn" (16), "Leidvolle Liebe" (17) and "Der Todeskuss" (17). His last movie as a director came with "Doch mit des Schicksals Mächten" (20) into being. Carl Schönfeld was not only active as a movie director but also as a screenwriter, movie actor and producer. As an actor he appeared in the productions "Die Goldquelle" (15), "Durch Nacht zum Licht" (15), "Wahn und Wahnsinn" (16), "Der Eisenbahnkönig" (21) and "Das gestohlene Millionenrezept" (21). His on Franz Schönfeld became a successful actor as well.
