. The actor Albrecht Schönhals received a musical education and was also trained as a singer. But before he was able to launch his theater and film career he volunteered for the military in 1914. Just before the end of war he sustained a slight wound. After the he took acting lessons by the famous actor Eduard von Winterstein and made his debut at the Stadttheater Freiburg in 1920. In the next years he also worked in Frankfurt, Dortmund and Hamburg. He made his film debut in 1934 and acted successful in "Fürst Woronzeff" (34). It followed movies like "April, April" (35), "Einer zuviel an Bord" (35), "Mazurka" (35), "Boccaccio" (36), "Die Kreutzersonate" (37), "Tango Notturno" (37) and "Die Frau ohne Vergangenheit" (39). His appearance predestined him for characters of the high society and
urbane lovers. Till 1942 he took part in movies like "Roman eines Arztes"
(39), "Angelika" (40) and "Vom Schicksal verweht" (42).
Albrecht Schönhals could go on from his earlier success and appeared in the movies "Illusion in Moll" (52), "Bildnis einer Unbekannten" (54), "Minna von Barnhelm" (57), "Affäre Dreyfus (59), "Bezaubernde Julia" (60) and "Scottland Yard jagt Dr. Mabuse" (63). He played his last role in Luchino Visconti's "Die Verdammten" (68).
