The actor and director Kurt Skalden already joined the film business in 1916 and he impersonated several role in silent movies in the next years like "Das Mitternachtsschiff" (16), "Gefallene Blüten" (18), "Es werde Licht! 4. Teil: Sündige Mütter" (18), "Ein nächtliches Ereignis" (18), "Die Fürstin von Beranien" (18), "Die Frau mit den Opalaugen" (18) and "Eine Künstlerehe am Kurfürstendamm" (21). Afterwards he retired from the film business for a longer time. In 1928 he wrote the screenplay for the movie "Herbstzeit am Rhein" (28). He returned to the front of the camera in the 30s with selfmade and produces movies. For the movies "Liebe geht - wohin sie will" (35) and "Junges Blut" (36) he was not only active as an actor but also took over the position of the director, screenwriter, cinematographer and cutter. For the first mentioned movie he was also the producer. Kurt Skalden was married with the actress Maria Paudler. His son Norbert Skalden became an actor too. He committed suicide at the age of 40.
